Sound of Music is a troupe of musicians. The orchestra group was started in 1976 and since then the troupe has carried a niche for itself in the film and light music scene of KARANATAKA with Bangalore as base.

The troupe caters to the cultural needs of all States of South India by redering popular songs in the South Indian Languages such as Kannada, Tamil, Telugu apart from Hindi Songs. In this manner, with the requirements of the audience the troupe has put up to its credit 5000 shows all over the country. Wherever the troupe is performed, the fans have been swinging to the melodious tunes created by the orchestra.

The unique aspect of the troupe is that in their live performance of film and folk music, they have brought in touches of novelty and modernity by bringing in the influences from Western music, like use of latest electronic music instruments.

Sound of music felicitated the great music directors and singers like O.P. Nayar, Dr. S.P. Balasubramanyam, P.B. Srinivas, Dada saheb phalke Award Winner Sri Mannadey and other great artists.

Doyens of Kannada Film Industry like Dr. P. B. Srinivas, Dr. Rajkumar, S. P. Balasubramanyam, Smt. L. R. Eshwari and Mr. Visnuvardhan have enjoyed the patronage of the "SOUND OF MUSIC", troupe in their live shows staged all over Karnataka by getting able musical support for their performance.

The "SOUND OF MUSIC" troupe by itself has organised various programmes for the benefit of charity trusts and others. Also, in honour of eminent personalities of music scene.
